BASIC QUESIONS IN PRO-E/ CREO

1) What is new name of Pro/Engineer(Pro/E)?
Ans- It's Creo Elements/Pro.


2) Pro/E is product of which company?
Ans- PTC (Parametric Technology Corporation) it's US based company.

3) Which are extensions for following type of files in Creo Elements (Pro/E)
     a. Part  b. Assembly  c. Sketches  d. Drawings ?
Ans- Part- .prt, Assembly- .asm, Sketches- .sec, Drawings- .drw

4) Enlist the sketcher constraints used in sketches.
Ans- Make line or two vertices Vertical,
         Make line or two vertices Horizontal,
         Make two entities Perpendicular,
         Make two entities Tangent,
         Place point on the Middle of the line,
         Create same points, points on entity or collinear constraint,

5) What is function of trail.txt file in Creo Elements (Pro/E)?
Ans- Trial.txt file records all the steps you are using during session if any case Pro/E crashes or power failure     occurs, you can retrieve your unsaved work by running trail file.

6) What are inputs required to execute Extrude command?
Ans- To use Extrude command all you need a closed cross section sketch and perpendicular distance.

7) What is use of config.pro file in Pro/E?
Ans- Config.pro is text file which stores all settings that define behavior of Pro/E during it's use.

8) What are Mapkeys?
Ans- Mapkey option gives you flexibility to create a macro for series of commands that you frequently using to keyboard shortcuts. Also you can add mapkeys as icons to toolbar.

9) How many Geometric tolerance symbols are there in Pro/E and which are they?
Ans- There are 14 different geometric tolerance symbols in Pro/E viz. Straightness, Flatness, Circularity, Cylindricity, Line profile, Surface Profile, Angularity, Perpendicularity, Parallelism, Position, Concentricity, Symmetry, Circular Runout and Total Runout.

10) What is Drawing.dtl file?
Ans- Drawing.dtl is a setup file used in drawings which define different formats, layouts, font size, dimension style etc.as per company company standards.
